UNOFFICIAL INVITATIONAL JUNIOR HANDLING COMPETITION TO BE HELD ON DECEMBER 29

(for Best Junior Handler of the Elora Gorge Kennel Club Shows)

At the Invitational there will be a Prize for Overall Winner and Reserve Winner and the Five remaining Juniors

Junior handler competitions are to promote quality handling and sportsmanship and are for handlers between the ages of 4 and 18 years of age.  Handlers are divided into six classes based on age, boys and girls competing in the same classes.

Handlers are judged on their ability to show their dog, while the conformation of the dog is not considered in the assessment of the handler's ability.

Overall impression is most important with the handler and the dog functioning as part of a team, unobtrusive but efficient.

Credit is given to handlers who deal with difficult dogs in a competent manner.

Handlers should have acceptable show attire, be well groomed and exhibit good sportsmanship at all times  Handlers can be expected to answer general questions on dog shows, dog anatomy and breed specifics.
